Two weeks to go in March.  The winter season has flown for Karen and me.  We have been working most days in the studio and will be bringing  home a trailor load of work for the shop.    I guess it would be more accurate to say that Karen has been working most days in the Studio.  I have worked quite a bit but I also fish more than she and have been trying to paint at least two or three time a week.  The group I paint with here in Texas has been great to be with. I'd like to think that I am a improving painter but I also think that there is no danger that I will feel the need to quit my day job as a potter any time soon...

Both Karen and I feel so fortunate that the course of our lives has made or vocation our avocation.

The plan is for Lisa to open the shop on April 1st.  We will be open 5 days a week for a couple of weeks until Karen and I return in mid April.  We will leave Texas and stop and see both boys and their families on our way home.   We plan to arrive around the 18th or so.

Thanks

Steve

Work continues on the site.  Karen and I are leaving in week for a trip to Atlanta see Dana and all his girls...  Then on to Texas to see Kolby and Erin for a couple of days.    Karen and I will then go to our place in Texas and work in our studio there for about 6 weeks.   Lisa will be keeping  the store open 5 days a week for the fall.  We are going to close tuesday and wednesday.   Karen and I will be back for  6 weeks over the holidays.  Like last year we plan to close the shop for Jan-April.  Prior to doing that last year we haad been open almost every day for 28 years.  Someone asked me today if we were closing because of business being slow.  I told them no we were closing for the winters because I will be 60 in a week!!!   Nuf said

The biggest news is abour a new grandaughter!!!  Evelyn Potts Andrews was born to Dana and Gretchen in atlanta georgia on september 16th.  Two grandaughters now.  Way cool.

Work on the web site continues.  Betsy Kelley is being a great big help.  Also getting help with photo's from Carol Greenslade.  Karen is working on some new glaze treatments for her Art pieces.  I am looking forward to getting back on the wheel after spending most of the summer at the store attending to store stuff. Glad we were as busy as we were but the creative juices need a kick start.  Any of you who are potters know what I'm saying.

Thanks

Steve

Work on the web site continues.  Have some helpers doing photo and info work for us.  It doesn't help that I have so little sense for this e-commerce thing.  I know that it's the right thing to do and so handy for our customers.

Thanks

Steve

Sturgeon River Pottery launches our new website which now allows you to securely purchase online!

June 14th  We had  our first online customer purchase.  I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to have the Geeks build us a e-commerce website but I have to say that it is pretty exciting to see it in operation. We will be a work in progress for the next while.

Thanks

Steve
