Our Studio

Andrews Pottery is hand-crafted at Sturgeon River Pottery's on-site studios by resident artisans and store owners Karen and Steve Andrews.  Andrews pottery was first created by Karen at their home on the banks of the Sturgeon River. Since then, the Andrews' pottery has taken on many unique and creative shapes and colors over the years.  It has become some of the most collected, functional pottery in Northern Michigan. 

In addition to the lasting styles of Andrews Pottery, many new colors and patterns have been introduced every year.

With every trip to the store you may see new experimental glazes. These glazes give Andrews Pottery an ever-changing and continually unique look. Be sure to check them out!

Karen and Steve also produce a limited amount of Raku Pottery and Pit fired pottery.  Karen is  developing a line of art pieces that combine her love of clay and fiber.  Stay tuned...

Our studio is fully functional and open for viewing seven days a week.  You can often catch Karen, Steve, or another member of our crew working diligently on their creative pieces.
